How should I get a visa?

After you register we will send you a registration packet that will include a visa application. The registration packet will include all the details about applying for a visa and where to send the application. Please be advised that you will also need 2 passport size photos.

What should I expect when I arrive?

You will be picked up at the Airport with the rest of the group and then taken to the hotel for check in. We will have a group dinner and orientation that night. The following day we will take a tour of the city and you will be introduced to popular areas.

What are the hotels like?

Hotels offer all the accommodations and conveniences you would expect in a Western style hotel.

Do I have to share a room?

Rooms are available as shared units or you may upgrade to a single room for additional expense. Please add $200 if you want your own room for a 2 week program. If you are going on a month long program an additional $300 will be necessary.

Are translation services available?

Translation will be provided during all lectures and clinical rounds. Our sightseeing events will occur with bilingual tour-guides.

What other activities will we participate in?

Several weekend events are planned at each destination, we will also do several evening outings that include dinner, shopping, and sightseeing. It is our goal to show you the most attractive and interesting sites that each location has to offer.

What is the weather like?

Fall in Shanghai is pleasant and warm; yet expect the nights and mornings to be cool. Bring several sweaters and a jacket.

Spring in Hang Zhou is comfortable and cool, rain is probable but not overwhelming. Bring sweaters and a jacket.

Is Internet available?

Yes, your hotel rooms are internet ready and in addition there are many coffee shops and cafes that offer internet service.

How much money should I bring?

We recommend a minimum of $500 for our 2-week programs. This will be sufficient for meals that are not covered, transportation, basic shopping, and entertainment. Shanghai is a city where one can subside for relatively cheap. The city also offers exquisite dining and fine shopping for those with expensive taste.
